New Firewire Scanner

Has anyone messed around with the new Firewire scanners? I have ordered a Umax 6400. Hopefully be here tomorrow. Should be faster than the SCSI that it is replacing. Here are the specs:

The UMAX Astra 6400 offers the fast speed of FireWire/IEEE-1394 technology along with hot-pluggable support for fast, versatile, and high quality image capture.
