My graphics are pissing me off - I can't seem to get my graphics to maintain quality
I've been authoring for a year now and I've never had this problem really before because I hadn't dealt with this many graphics before. I test my page and the graphics I created all of a sudden lose their quality. I tried to compress them less and less but every time I redo them and save at a lesser compression they still look like crap. I know about not compressing more than once and I didn't do that. I'm also editing with front page and I found that they automatically compress your jpg's to 75% so I changed that and they still loo bad. Please help! I'm beginning to go crazy trying to figure this out.
(you can see what I mean here. keep in mind it's only a test and not all of the things will be up yet)

Justin please tone down on your language as there are minors on these boards. Thanks.
The main problem I see is that the image bg colours does not match the page bg colour. Apart from this the graphics look alright...
What images are causing the problems?

justin,
I've been creating images for about three or four years now. I used to get really upset also, the best thing I learned is to try saving in different formats. Gradients tens to display best as .jpg files with little or no compression. The link images on your page however will probably look great as .gif files. Give that a shot it will probably clear things right up. Also, you will notice sometimes that a file will be smaller in size if you use the .gif format instead. Sometimes it works in reverse too. Its just best to try both until you get a feel for which is best for which kind of image (did that make any sense?).

Thanks, Shai1

What file format are you editing in? For a long time I was having troubles with images degrading until I started doing all my work in a lossless format such as a tif and then only saving it as a jpeg or a gif when I was completely done. That solved my problem.
Also, when you say you're using FrontPage to edit images, do you mean you're using Microsoft Image Composer, the program that comes with it? I don't use FrontPage, but I do use MIC. It's somewhat limited, but it will allow you to edit as a tif file until you're ready to convert it to another format.
