Here's a recent article about the bastar... oops, I mean Microsoft's attempts to win over graphic designers.

What do you think about this? I think it's a pretty risky move. They're targetting hard core Mac people who have been using Adobe products for 15+ years. Or so they say, anyway - I think this sort of thing might be more likely to appeal to the casual "graphic designer' type. You know, the people who were never actually properly trained but tried to pick it up along the way. It depends on how they price it really. If it's less expensive than adobe it could catch the intereset of the semi-professionals. The real pros though? I'm not so sure....

I think this has the potential to be a massive flop. (stop laughing!)

My First question is how much and for how long. MS don't usually do a once off licence and talk of IE being pay for sections.

Could be worse, they could get into operating systems  to late :scared:

Well, the only way they would have a chance is to beat Adobe on price. Probably their best move would have been to try and aquire Macromedia before Adobe... With Macromedia and Adobe combined now... don't think Microsoft has a chance... unless they sell their product for dirt. Microsoft doesn't really have that reputation.

Microsoft did such a good job with MS Paint, I can't wait to see what this new thing will be like. Sticking out tongue
