Make outdated photo look new again
For anyone who is better with photo adjustment than me, can you identify why this photo looks a bit outdated?
Unfortunately this is the best winter photo we have right now. How can I make it look newer?

I don't see any visual clues to date the photo - is that what you mean?
For an alternative, did you look on http://www.sxc.hu/category/1290 ?
[EDIT]
OIC, it is your campus, I guess, so a generic pic won't cut it.
I find this thread fascinating/amusing and I forwarded it to four designer colleagues!
pr0gr4mm3r's satellite dish is good, I think the cell antenna looks blurry and obviously added. Maybe put the smaller building-top variety on the tall building....

It was more of a joke when Greg said it needed cell phone antennas or something. The sat dish is probably 100ft in diameter if it was to scale to the building.

I also didn't see anything wrong with your work.. It is a winter photo and it is normal that it looks like outdated

You think so? There's something about it that seems old looking to me... I think some colour correction should help but I'm not sure what else to try. I was playing with the photo filter in Photoshop but I'm not really sure how to use that for best results.

I gave the picture a touch of blue, and I think it looks more "wintery", but I think there is just too much going on. Maybe take a step in front of those trees and take another shot, so it's just the building and the few trees in front of it.

Unfortunately, it's not quite so pretty out right now

1. Too much snow. With all the global warming there shouldn't be so much (so people claim...)
2. Taller building with out cell phone antennas on it..
Think the main thing (to me) that makes it look older is the look of the taller building being like buildings around here that are older, and not big glass windows which they use more of now.

LOL, yep, the architecture around here is dated too
Despite climate change, we had a record year for snowfall last year. It seems to be more extreme one way or the other every year now... (the year before it was really mild).

Apparently the building on the right has a subscription to the Dish Network. Those college kids can't get enough TV these days...

I like the graphics editing. LOL
I have never been too good at graphics. I am more of a developer than I am a graphics artist.
