Below is a link to 5 concept logo's for a client. I'd love to hear what you guys have to say. Have a favorite? Hate 'em all? Like it, but it needs improvement? Let me know!

I don't get them...

What are the boxes under the title treatment? They really overpower the logos, they are all I can look at. And I don't get them...

blah sorry, they don't make much sense, do they.

Below each concept are "blocks" containing color scheme's, to the left is a monochromatic version, and to the right is a contrast version. These colors are by no means set in stone, they can be switched with any other concept. They are not part of the logo.

They are meant to get the client thinking about colors and to show what could be used on the website and in any print materials.

Could you "smallen" them? And/or simplify them? They overpower the logo concepts by quite a large margin.

Holding my hand over them, lol, I like the one with the crooked e, but I wonder what they do.

Suzanne

I hid them, just click the link to get them back.

*I was picturing you putting your hands on the screen and it gave me a bit of a tickle =)*

#5 even though it's rather big.

I suppose a lot depends on the actual sites content, from the logos I gather it's a international company of sorts but what kind, moving, travelling ... the P'Chelle gives me a feeling of clothes or perfume or something so kinda throws the first theory out the window.

Any chance of more info about the company?

The company is a Marketing Consulting Agency, it mainly deals with International Manufactoring companies, more on the family owned side rather than large corporations. The logo is large so that the client can see it clearly and it will be used for print media much more than screen. Of course, when I design the website, the logo will be much smaller.

Much better, lol. I like #5 and #2. #5 is pretty generic, but strong. #2 says "manufacturing" or "science/biomedical" to me.

Definitely not 5. Every second "international" company has a logo that looks like a globe of some sort. It's about as common as the ball and swoosh was three years ago. I had a client who insisted on a globe logo. They wouldn't stop arguing about which way the globe should be facing (because, you know, we don't want to offend australia) Roll eyes I tried to talk them into a stylized globe that wouldn't have identifiable continents but they wouldn't listen. Thankfully, I haven't heard from them in awhile Smiling

So, the second one is the best here, although it would still be good to have some sort of symbol. I also think the "international" should be much smaler and not so close to the e. It's distracting from the stylization on the e. try moving it down below the P'chelle and make it smaller. Make it the same width as the P'chelle. P'chelle should also have the kerning expanded just a tiny but.

#1 and #5 really caught my attention. After a closer look #2 looks cool with that "e". Anyone of those would look awesome...

Megan's right about the globe! I did one recently where I redeveloped their logo, but they didn't want to lose the globe. The original globe was atrocious.

Still, the balance of #5 is better than some of the others.

I think the logos in general are too long and thin. Both in print and on the web, they are going to take up a lot of space without a lot of payback.

While I'm annoying you, how about making some smaller versions alongside? You may find that what looks good large fails to show up smaller.

Agreed. #5. I like the colors of it.

Good points everyone!

The client liked #1 and #2 the best. The "v" he thought was too big, and I agree.

I have posted a second round of concepts including the color scheme and logo's the client liked (not my choice for color scheme)

Suzanne, I did shrink them down, and yes, I can see the length being a problem as well. Thing is now I have him hooked on the e to international transition. This is only the second round revision, so I'm going to play with it some more and post probably again tomorrow. You guys are a big help, thanks a bunch!

what about the globe with the arrows over top as if to show 'there and back'

Out of the new ones, I'd pick #1 and #3 - seem to attract me to them the most

I don't know if it is just my area, but around here we get flooded with check cashing companies, and when I see the logos with the checkmark in them, that is the first thing that comes to mind.

How is the name of the company pronounced? I think that would make a big difference in how I would feel about the titled "e", with the e a different color and tilted, makes me think the "e" sound is another sylable at the end of the name.

Of the ones with the tilted "e", I prefer the International on a separate line. with all one line, I see the "e" as not so much part of the name, makes me feel like it's just another logo getting the "e" for ecommerce in there to try to sound modern. Kinda like a few years ago when so many companies switched to an oval "orbital" look. Says to me "we are trying to fit in".

Of course take in mind that I'm the type that when I see an infomercial, watch it for the humor factor becasue of the "hype". Most of what seems to work in the marketing world, I don't get LOL.

I like the three new ones. Especially the middle one with the orange "e". What if you had the l in "international" connected to the e?

Greg has a good point as well. With the e treated separately it gives me the impression that the name is pronounced P-shell-e rather than P-shell. I don't know which is correct.
