huge_
Just came up with a huge unuseable design.. the whole point of it being so large (1600 x 1400) is to give the effect of changing the direction your looking (while scrolling down) ..
What do you think of the graphics?
This is only a test nav - real world rules need not apply.

requires flash 6 and takes ages to load on dialup - I don't have (or want) flash 6 so can't see it

Okay, so the intent is to scroll? is that it? Taking advantage of eye movement by scrolling? I don't quite get it. It would be neat to apply some sort of zooming tool to the thing, so people could zoom out then zoom in.
I somehow don't understand the point of these big 3D type pointy graphic things. I mean these rectangular rays that seem to be radiating from a center point. I've seem them on a lot of sites but just don't quite understand what they're supposed to be and what the purpose is.

lol... listen guys, no need to be anal about this -
"This is only a test nav - real world rules need not apply."
I dont know what its supposed to be either - futuristic? why does it have to resemble something to be acceptable? Why does orignality have to be dumped on for standards that are programmed into students these days? How did I ever get to the proffesional level? LOL
Could someone please let me know how they LIKE the graphics? I was just bored and threw something together I thought was interesting - someone reading this might too... or maybe I have to try a different forum lol

Well it wasn't for your spelling!
I like the graphics man, just would be far better in the usual 'fit to screen' of SWFs.

I have to admit I've seen WAY too many extrusions to be fond of the graphics, sorry. This isn't the anal me, either, but the "oh for pete's sake I've seen this a zillion times, he can do better than this" artist side that rarely visits the web because she would far rather paint.

I'm going to have to partially agree with Suzanne on this one.
The colours are nice, the shape interesting in that it is squarish and not pointy.
Work more on the lower right image, it is bland and does not add as much as it could. The flashing light purple near the content area is too fast and non-stop, slow it down or add a pause to it, and put one or two more scattered around.
The content area is too small.
