Hi dear friends,

I'm a very enthusiastic user of the forums and would like to ask you to help on my new project. Under http://www.mundini.de/Saglietto/index.htm I uploaded my latest work and have the following questions you may want to check:

When you're going to the end of one page you can use the arrow to get back to the top of the page (= hotspot). However, it seems not to go all the way up but stopps a few pixel under the top line. Do you know how to get all the way up?

How does the graphic layout looks at your screen? How's the download time? Is it acceptable?

How can I get the browser to load the external CSS faster? Once loaded and reloaded the browser shows my CSS fonts but sometimes not the first time.

Background image: I used 1 graphic as background image which is pretty big since I have to check on 1200 x 708 and 800 x 600 monitor size. I don't like it very much since it takes up a lot of loading. Do you have another idea on how to use
a) the horse image
b) the buttons as links and
c) the brown color as background?

Thousand thanks for your appreciated help.

Take the out of the tags and I think it will work fine then.

The graphic layout looks very good on my 733 P III on a 1024x768 resolution. It loaded really fast.

Regarding your CSS question, I don't know if there is any faster way that the way it is now.

Thank you so far.

Do you have any idea to my background image problem?

I'd also like to have a mouse-over script, which only works if I have one image it in a table and the background color, right?

Thanks for your help.

Well, in netscape I'm not seeing a background image at all for some reason - don't know why that is.

Instead of making that one big background image, just make your page background that yellowish colour (no graphic background) and have your horse and navigation a separate graphic on top of it. You can either slice it up into different pieces (which would make mouseovers easier) or use an image map on that.

Hi Megan,

that's the idea: slicing up the image. Is there a programm (free) you know of?

Thanks, Silver

Hi,

There's a free image slicer, you can download

http://www.yippee.net/html/win/webauthoring/title5509.htm

It's "CoffeeCup Image Slicer" and it's an excellent tool to slice your image. It also generates the code so you can just copy and paste it to your html page.
