Help with flash
Check out these two sites:

http://www.neoviastudio.com/
See those little scroll buttons? Not the scroll bars, but the liittle ones - how are they done? I think in flash. Does anyone know somewhere I can get a free script or something I can just practice and learn with? What is this technique/element called?
TIA!
Brooke

Those sites are completely done in flash so you'd need to find a tutorial on scrolling within flash as the buttons will be images that have an action assigned to them to scroll the text.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to. Are you talking about how part of the text scrolls sort of like an i-frame would? There are a couple of different ways of doing this, unfortunately I forget what they are. I also think that Flash MX has a built-in function that does this for you. Try flashkit.com for tutotirals - I'm sure they'll have a bunch depending on which version of flash you have.

Also try Were Here Forums which specialises in flash and also has some good tutorials.

I just moved this thread to CD&GD just in the hopes that someone with more flash knowledge may see it here.

In the Flash 5 draggable scrollbar, it involves a mathematical ratio between the height of the text field and the track area where the button is dragged up and down.
