Guide to using icons

I came across this succinct guide to using icons at Spoonfed Design, including some icon sets.

As a developer, I want the meaning of icons to be intuitive, for good navigation and usability.

I like the icons here at TWF (look to the right Wink )

I agree - the use of the magnifying glass icon for search confused me at first.

Recently I commented on the icons on the UnitedIssues site - I did not understand their significance, and they turned out to be avatars selected by the posters and had no intrinsic meaning.
