Get color scheme from an image
I just found this cool website. It generates a color scheme for your site based on an image:

Try it out. I just found it today, so I haven't had time to implement it. If you use the colors it generates for a specific picture, let me know. I'd be interested in seeing how it pans out.

Yeah, I'd seen all those, and each of them has their advantage, for the most part. But none of them generate a color scheme automatically based on an image, except the one I posted. That was my reason for posting the link.

It's pretty easy to get a colour scheme from an image just using photoshop really, simply select the ink dropper tool and mouseover the image till you find a colour on there that you like then click and use it

You can do that, but that doesn't generate a color scheme for you. There's a distict difference between getting one color and getting a color scheme. And this even automagically generates the color scheme for you.

Yeah, but i've tested it out and it doesn't really really to have any logical way of choosing the colours, to me anyway, just seems to pick random hex codes from the graphic. it could still be useful though but i don't think i'd use it to find the scheme for a site, i think that second link someone posted - where you can choose colours that 'contrast' each other - is the most useful, after you've picked your base colour.
All good find though!

but then I dont actually get a scheme from a photo... So it depends on the usefulness of the tool and the actual need you have...

Color Schemer. I like the downloadable version...no need to be online, and you can pick colors from your screen no matter what you are running.
They do have an online version, and it looks like they've got a new upgrade as well.
