One of the things that Swish does really well (better than flash AFAIK) is text effects. So you could do a simple animation with text doing various things. I'm not sure what all else it does now - I haven't used it in years. I wouldn't say it's not a professional tool though. It's not a replacement for Flash but it's a good quick way to get certain things done.
Seriously, as someone who has actually built a Flash site, I can tell you that it isn't an easy thing to do. It isn't even all that fun once you get past the beginning stages. If you haven't used flash before it's probably going to take a lot of practice before you're ready to do a good animation.
P.S. TWF does not approve of or endorse software piracy in any way.
P.P.S. IMO, Flash intros are not inherently evil. This has been discussed.
Ok well Ill start in swish and go from there, thanks for help everyone.

Do you have any experience with flash?
Seriously consider why you are wanting a flash intro! Most of them are of no use, slow down loading times and aren't SE friendly.

1) Download illegal copy of Macromedia MX
2) Play around with Flash
3) After a few years you might be able to make something
4) Listen to Suzanne
