Flash 5.0
I downloaded flash 5.0 trial from macromedia, and I have a few questions.
How do you make a "loading" preview?
Is there a way to take a .swf and make it into a .fla editable file?
I added a .gif picture and it worked fine once.
I tried adding a .gif picture that I edited to the flash, and it was just a blank box. The pic shows up fine everywhere else.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

You might check out http://www.were-here.com. They have a lot of useful flash tutorials... I don't believe you'll be able to convert an swf to an editable fla- that's why the swf format was created; to prevent you from doing that .
Good luck!

Please excuse my typing - still have carpal tunnel...
Loading preview - use IfFrameLoaded action. Put all your stuff (symbols, imported jpgs etc..) on one dummy frame. Create an animation to be the preloader. Ask if the dummy frame is loaded. If it is, tell it to go to your main movie. if not, go back to frme 1 of animation.
I think there's a program that makes swf's into fla's but I frget what its called.

That is a very informative site. It is a very slow site, but the info is there when you eventually get to it.
