Embedding Powerpoint
Yep, need to embed powerpoint slideshow into html, I want to be able to do it without converting the slideshow to html, or into flash. It needs to run inside the browser window. I was just wondering if anyone would know if there is a way to code it in?

I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for but it is worth trying out, http://www.thumbstacks.com. It is an online powerpoint like presentation builder meant for the web. I haven't used it much but I think it is pretty cool.
EDIT: Here's an example of one I made really quickly http://www.thumbstacks.com/play.html?show=a3108d615eab07286013d35877eaf3da

Thanks for that. Umm, it doesnt look quite like what i want. Im looking for a way to display the actual presentation, like the full screen version, but in the browser. I've seen it done in IE, But I need it to work with Firefox. Could it be done with AciveX? Hope not lol. but thanks anyway.

ActiveX is a Microsoft proprietary technology, and only works in IE.

Just spend some time playing with http://www.thumbstacks.com. You build the presentation online using their builder (I don't think you can import a MS powerpoint presentation) and then you can show it online using their show tool. Take 20 minutes and figure it out yourself, I can't explain it very well.

As I see it the best way to do it would be to convert the powerpoint (.ppt) to flash (.swf) as powerpoint isn't designed for web viewing but flash is.
A quick search on google revealed quite a few apps that would do the job.
Take your pick

Cool thanks guys, But this still doesen't solve the problem. What the goal is to allow users of this program to upload a .ppt file, then an engine automatically runs it in a html page, like a powerpoint. The things suggested so far require changing the actual ppt file or making it up on a third party software. Can html house a ppt show with in? thanks for the help so far guys. mupp

Ok then, I spose it gets harder then lol. Is there a was to tap into the system processes to program auto starts and finishes? Could this method be used to auto play a powerpoint presentation and to auto close it? I realise this seems a bit out there, but this is a pretty important function of the software we are building.
oh btw, it would be interesting to hear the long answer lol.
