Easy ways to change resolution?

My website has been designed with 1024x768 in mind. However, the majority of my visitors are using 800x600. Is there any simple way or program that can be used to alter the layout or am I going to have to redesign the entire site???

Thanks in advance

You are going to have to change the coding so that no tables are wider than 770 (with 0 margins) and if they contain graphics you'll possibly need to redesign the layout.

Yes that is the maximum as 800 is the total width of the complete browser including vertical scrollbar, etc.

Setting your tables to 100% is the easiest way
if you have 3 column set up, fix both side ones and leave center section to grow or shrink
if two column fix one side and let the over grow or shrink to suit screen size, that way people using 800x600 (or anysize) that don't have their browser window maximised can still see everything without having to scroll

Yes tables is the best way, but if you are going to redesign(?) then you might want to try CSS Positioning Laughing out loud

If you simply need to alter some tables use find and replace in a text editor, Edit Pad is good one:

Thanks for that advice! Reckon ill try fixing my 2 side columns and letting the middle column run free. That way I still get the main structure without the scrolling. Also means I dont have to radically change my site layout Smiling
