Director 8 problem

I created an interactive CD in Director 7
and opened it in 8 ( using update movie ).
I want to change the movie properties but can't.
I open the movie properties window but it
has no info in it, only a movie icon in top left and
nothing else. In the help files the window has options to
change aspects of the movie but I don't get these options.

I want to:
1. Change the background of the projector from white to black
when playing (area around stage so whole screen is black
except for image areas).
2. Change the dimensions of the stage without affecting the layout.

Also, I need to deliver the CD so it will run on PC's as well as Macs.
Any info as to the best way to do this would be appreciated. As I'm new
to this the more basic the info the better! I also want the CD to autostart.

As for Director 8 I am not too familiar with the lay out so I can not help you there. Director is Director though.

in your movie script (cntrl+shift+U) add this

on startmovie
set the stagecolor = 0
end

that will get your stage to black.

Now changing your stage without affecting your layout. Can't be done.

you need to get a copy of director for the pc to burn a pc disc. I know that you can do an ISO 9660 burn(hybred) but I have yet to get one to work.

Now for your autostart.
Mac: Done with the burning software you use. TOAST?(I am not a mac guy)

PC: open notepad and add this to it.

[autorun]
open = whatever.exe

and save the file as autorun.inf
