Creating an non animated Character
I have no graphics experience and desperately want to create a cartoon type character (non animated) for my site logo.
I have seen something I really like and want to create something similar, its quite basic but I cannot find any sites or software that allow me to make anything.
I downloaded the free trial of photoshop but it messed up my computer so i didnt get anywhere with it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Looks like that image link is broken.
You might try looking on stock image sites like istockphoto.com. They have some vector images on there you can use. You can change them enough to customize them to your site. They generally are pretty cheap. $5 or less.

I think the best way is just to create types of circles and other objects and just arrange them into the shape of a face or something and tyhen adjust them to what you want it to look like. If you play around with it for a while I'm sure you'll get something half decent.
