creating a flash of a 33 rpm record
I recently created a spinning 33 rpm flash(swf).
I took an image of a record label, with the hole (33rpm size)
and created 12 images; each rotated 30 degrees clockwise from the previous
image.
I then brought them into DW Flash 2004. I had to align the images so as to keep the center from twisting oblong.. That was difficult. Then I constructed the movie to run at 99 fps.
I think it turned out pretty cool, but here are 2 problems with it.
1) While making the images (in Paint Shop Pro 5.0) each time rotated 30 degrees;
the subsequent images started to blur. By the time I got to image 11, the last
image before the 1st one reloads, the text on the label was very blurred.
Image 1 starts out clear...
2) You need imagination to assume that the label is attached to a vinyl background,
because I didn't think of using an image of real record grooves until later.
Has anyone any experience building this kind of image or making a flash of
something that rotates like a record?
Any suggestions how I could take a 'still' image of the vinyl
and make it appear as though it's rotating, in sync, with the label?
I have a vinyl image too, but whoever took the picture of the record
managed to get a flashbulb reflection in the vinyl.
In order to make it spin and look real, the flashbulb reflection must
look almost static, while the rest of the grooves appear to rotate..
How could I do that?

Thanks for any comments you have. I'd like to know where I stand, skill-wise

With flash, you should not need to create the "rotate images", just use a motion tween and rotate the image in flash.
I just grabbed an image online and did this, and it worked fairly well, except for the fact the the image I grabbed did not have the record 100% in the middle of the image, so did not look like it was spinning from the hole, but did look like it was rotating smoothly.

hmmm..
Ok. Apparently my skill at Flash is near '101'level.
I couldn't determine how to rotate one image using "create motion tween".
I guess I need to take a class..
Thanks for the help.

From my playing around, it seemed easiest to do actually four rotations, each a 1/4 turn. I was going to say do it in 2, however when i played the one I did, it rotated one direction to get upside down, then back the other way to go right side up.... So using 4 steps worked to keep it always rotating the same direction.
Create a new movie, put the image on Frame 1. right click on Frame 15, choose "Insert KeyFrame"
Now on one of the frames in between those two, right click and choose "Create Motion Tween".
Now click on the ending frame again. With the image highlighted (and anything else you want rotated), choose the Free Transform tool (in toolbar, on my version it was left one second row down).
Move your cursor to just outside one of the corner boxes till you see it change to the rotate cursor. Rotate the image 1/4 the way around around.
Now right click on frame 30, choose "Insert KeyFrame". Repeat the last three paragraphs above., then do same for frame 45 and 60.
Hope this helps, I did this off of Flash 8 Pro, but this is something basic to flash that was there since v4 that I first used.

Greg..
It worked; however,I did need to change the order of the steps you listed.I don't know why.
For some reason, I had to 'insert keyframe' on frame 15,
and then rotate the image there, before I selected "create motion tween".
I couldn't get it to work in the other order.. Maybe Flash 2004 is a little different than Flash 8, in that aspect.
I also had to extend the amount of frames to smooth out the rotation. I inserted frames between each keyframe so that each of the 4 were 25 frames instead of 15. It seems to turn smoother.. check it out: http://www.shmangyboys.com/Flash/shmangyspin2.swf
It still jumps a little, though..
Anyway, I got it working thanks to your help.
I appreciate it.
Now on to the problem with getting the grooves part of the record added and making it appear like a real record spinning.
Thanks again
