Colour - Hue

OK...can someone please give some assistance. I'm not to good with the whole colour thing. I understand that colours with similar hues go together but how do you go about determining if two colours have a similar hue? If I start with a green do I change Brightness and Saturation to get a complementry green with the same hue?
If someone could explain it would be great, I use PhotoShop if that helps.
Thanks in advance. Laughing out loud

This probably came out of something I said, right?

If you change the brightness or saturation you're within the same hue. You can play with this in Photoshop's colour picker. Select the H to change the hue. Moving around in the vertical spectrum changes the hue, while the larger square spectrum changes the brightness and contrast (brightness on vertical axis, saturation on the horizontal axis). Select the S for saturation and B for brightness will have similar results.

I'm trying to find you a good link on colour theory.. Color Matters is a good site but it doesn't specifically talk about hues and values and that sort of things. This link might be helpful:
