Color Schemes
Hey all...
When I am designing websites, I seem to be stuck to a blue color scheme because I can't get any other color to work the way I want it. I think i've tired out blue and its hues enough and I need some help breaking my Blue-Addiction. Any hints or suggestions, programs, or anything else that may enable me to be a better designer with color are welcome.

I know what you mean about blue, but then that's the colour that a lot of businesses use so it is hard to get away from it!
These are good for colour inspirations:

There was also a good article from about.com listing a whole ton of colour schemes - I'll see if i can find it.
One thing I like to do is go look at paint chips - some brands have sample colour schemes along with their regular monochrome chips. You can scan these in to get a nice digitized set of colours to use, then maybe adjust hue/saturation/lightness to get something a little more web friendly (since paint colours tend to be a little duller than what you'd want to use onscreen)

Lots of good examples there.
This is an article from digital-web magazine talking about corporate preferences for blue and how to make that more interesting.

ive become quite fond of this: http://www.colorschemer.com/
they have a 15-day trial, and it's $25 for a registered copy, but it's worth every penny

A lot of people are afraid to step outside the primary color — they use only different shades (as you complain). Try out other hues as well with the primary.
