Changing a teplate to make it your own

Hi, I recently purchased a web design and script and I wanted to change the header, my guy who helps me says that graphic is hard wired or something and its taking him like all this time to figure out how to change it...

There must be an easier way..???

This is a major big deal and is really bumming me out the harder doesn't describe my business and I want it gone...

So, you purchased a design but didn't get source files, is that the case? When you purchase a design the vendor *should* give you the psd files so you can customize the graphics. If you don't have source files then your design guy is right - it's a big pain to try to change the graphic.
