black glossy text w/ a bit of glare...
I've been fiddling aroung trying to produce black glossy text with sort've a white, almost glassy, glare in some places. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I seen PSP interactive zone's logo at: http://www.pspiz.com
Anyone know how to do this? The closest I've gotten to it is with the cutout tool. I think they used a Blade Pro preset. Do some of those plugins work indepently of buying the software?

Are you using Photoshop or PSP? If you're using Photoshop, then you can just use the "glass" effect that is built into the software. I use the "glass" effect that comes with Eye Candy, but either way will work. You can also find some tutorials at the following sites...

Yeah, if you're using photoshop just right click on the layer, click effects, and select bevel and emboss on the dropdown menu at the top. You can play around with the settings in there (inner bevel or emboss would be best for you), and you'll get what you want. You can also use eyecandy as Justin mentioned.

Jeez! I forgot to mention that I have PSP 4.12. It's a dinosaur, but very economical. Hopefully, I can get Photoshop in the next six months. In the mean time, I will keep trying.
Thanks guys,
