MS Paint... I'm not kidding But for real, there arn't any good paint programs for free. Your best bet is to shell out the $50 or whatever and get PSP. If you have more then go for Fireworks or Photoshop.

Agreed, there aren't any good graphics programs that I know of for free... Well.. you might try The Gimp at www.gimp.org, but other than that, you would be better off buying Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop (or getting your employer to buy it for you)

You can download the windows version at www.gimp.org/win32/ actually, although it is supposed to be somewhat unstable at times.

I have doubts as to whether this should be online, but since it is I might as well pass it on...for an "early" edition it's still pretty good.

Hi;
I use and like "Ultimate Paint". The freeware version does not have a lot of options, but it is not a bad program for the price. I use it in conjunction with MS Paint, ZPaint and Harms Tile99. If you would like to find out more about them here are the addresses:
Ultimate Paint
http://www.ultimatepaint.com/index.html
ZPaint (for making buttons)
http://www.steffengerlach.de/freeware/
Harm's Tile99 (seamless backgrounds)
http://www.users.uswest.net/~sharman1/stile99.htm
Hope they help.
Cheers
Eaglefeather

I just love the gimp.
I have a NT box at work and a PhotoShop license on my desk, but I prefer the gimp.
I used PhotoShop for two years at university, but it just isn't "it".
just my .02$

I use GIMP (Window port version)
This can be had at:
http://user.sgic.fi/~tml/gimp/win32/downloads.html
The GIMP is a freeware, open source, graphics
program which many sophisticated features such as layer-based image processing, advanced script-fus, animation, and loads of other things. Because it is an open source program, it is constantly being improved by
a large community of programmers. It was written originally for UNIX and LINUX. The Windows port I have is a developer's version
and as such can be unstable at times. It's definitely worth having, but be sure to read the manual at http://gimp-savvy.com/A must!
