Background layout
Hi
I have seen some really kewl web site and I wanted to improve mine -HAH!!!!!
I have very little concept of html, and non when it omes to the other scripts. The page I am trying to do involves everything I have gone from resource page to resource page for about 5 days and finally I have a rough draft.
I have several issues with the draft:
1. The top of the tree is too low, but I can live with this.
2. The floating trunk drops to low ... I can recut the image and make the top branch section longer so that it includes the knot.
3. The floating trunk goes to low in the footer.
I am trying to create a page that scrolls with the viewer. I am planning on placing images on the floating trunks that will house my links.
Also in the footer there will be links added to the image like the top trunk.
I am not sure if this is the best way to achieve all this.
Need all the help I can get.
Thanks
Robyn

Sorry, but I too think you need to start simple. Frustrating I know (I was livid with my computer several times because I didn't do what I wanted) but you need to learn the tools. I suggest you get a good, strong knowledge of HTML 4.01 Transitional (ie, an up-to-date tutorial), then learn CSS. Then, you should be able to do what you want.
Sorry to be a wet blanket!

I don't get the full concept (been a long day) but it doesn't sound like it could be done with HTML alone, maybe CSS as well but may need DHTML (Javascript) to help it. Or could be done in flash

I do think you might be trying to run before you can walk here, although xhtml and css will probably be able to do roughly what you need.
Checking the code, it's all over the place! You've got 3 body tags, and a table after you've closed the body tag, this is not good. Fix that before thinking about anything else. Hmmm, I see png files here, you do know that ie doesn't support alpha transparency unless you use a script?
You're going to have problems making the images match unless you:
Feel free to prove me wrong though, but it isn't matching at the moment!
