.Art Files
Does anyone know how to convert a image to a .art file? My husband is trying to learn how to make cars with a program he has and I think in order for him to even get the certain parts into this program he needs to convert the image to a .art file. Its for a game he plays a lot called "Need For Speed" Thanks for any help given.

I hadn't even heard of the .art file extension except when AndyB pointed me to his site at http://clik.to/missing where it explains that .art is an AOL file extension.
Basically I have NO idea!

One way to convert something to .art format is to get an AOL user to download it from the web (with their user preferences set so that the extra compression occurs).
.art files will not look as good as the original artwork.
Here's a link straight to a page on one of my 'help' sites that tells you all I know about .art files and how to avoid them, and also which preferences to set ... presumably if you un-set those prefs you'll receive the compressed art format images.

which is one of the pages at http://clik.to/help

soundtank -- I don't have Illustrator (I use CorelDRAW). Would you please let me know what the .art extension is used for (other than AOL)? And thanks for responding -- I am always glad to feed my brain more trivia!

I would like to know the same.....there has to be a way to do this other then using AOL. My hubby converted them before but he is not sure how he did it now and we do not use AOL at all....thanks for the replies.
