Are frames neccesarily bad?
Hi, I was just wondering what you all thought about the use of frames...
I think that frames are OK when done carefully and tastefully, as in www.mzrg.com. In fact I think that this site benefits from the use of frames, as the navigation bar is always visible - it saves users from having to scroll to the top of the page every time they want to go somewhere else.
What do you think?

You can do the same thing with CSS, visit CSSZengarden to see other things that CSS can do...

There are so many downsides with frames, bad for SEO, problems with links from external sites, putting pages into favourites.......

Yeah, I wouldn't call that site a good use of frames. The only good examples I've seen are more along the lines of help modules or indexes of some sort. Really, there's no reason why you should need to use frames for a regular website. If you want to fix navigation or other elements you can do that with CSS.
