Any PageMill pros out there?

Newbie alert! I know PageMill should be making this easier, but I seem to be missing some very basic steps. My images disappear, leaving only a source code. Where should I be saving my images/objects before I insert them into the page? Is the "resources" folder in PageMill a safe place?

Hi Annella,

Welcome

Not sure how pagemill saves things, but the best way with any program is to create a directory structure just like it will be on the server.

Example: Create a directory on your hard drive called c:\webpage or whatever you want to call it. This is the root directory. Then create any directories under this like images, cgi-bin, etc.

Store your html files in the root, images in images, etc. When you insert an image into the html page, it will have the path defined. Also, If you are hosting on a Unix based server, do not use any spaces in your directory and file names.

Then when you upload, create an identical sub-directory structure and you shouldn't have any problems. The root on your server is already defined. In many cases is something like public_html or you just can't go any farther.

Hope this helps,

Dan
