Any ideas on this one?
I am working with a animal hospital/ kennel on doing a website. Part of what they want is the possibility of having a webcam available to the pet owners while the pet is staying with them. I am trying to get some ideas on the best way to approach this. I am thinking that they will need a ton of bandwidth, a dedicated server and a pretty good pipe to the Internet on this one. I think that this would be an optional service $$$ for the pet owners so I really don't know how many cameras that they would need.
Anybody ever have any experience with a setup like this or webcam's in general?

You could do a pretty easy setup here. Just get a bunch of webcameras and use one of those free programs to post a new picture every 10 seconds or so. Run the program on different port for each webcam/cage. You can setup different directories and password protect them too. There might even be a program that can handle multiple webcams, I'm not sure (havn't used my webcam in over 2 years).

You might want to talk to my cousin, Dan. He's designed and built his own hardware. And keeps up fairly well with cam info.

The site is not currently fully functional as he's recently disassembled some equipment to document how it was built.

If there is no answer on Google, then there is no question.
