animated gif not animated
When I right click on the gif it only gives the option to save as a bitmap not gif or jpeg. I tryed typeing .gif on the end and it seems like a gif but a html doc won't read it
and I tryed uploading one to a web site but
it said the file did not seem to be a true gif and failed to upload it. I often use microsoft frontpage when a save a html doc with frontpage it a makes a true gif that does work but it does not animate in the html doc. At one time my computer did let me save a gif. Gif would come up in the save as list not btmap does anyone know how to get my computer back to this without reformating my harddisc. Right now the only way I can get an animated gif in my web pages is to hot wire it.

I have seen this problem before with design novices. It appears to me that the problem is that you are saveing the file as a ".gif" but not as an animated ".gif". Not all programs save animated gifs though they may save in the "gif" format. SO, I recommend that you go to Tucows and do a search for Gif Movie Gear, or Gif Animator Pro.
Then create each frame in a graphics program and then save them as ".gif's". Then open up your newly installed gif animator program and then file/import the gif files you created. Mess with the amount of colors, transparency, and dithering to reduce the final file size.
Hope this helps.

Right click and the only save as format is bmp?
Sounds like the sort of thing that AOL does where the original image got saved in .art format. If you are an AOL user, or got the aninmated gif from an AOL user ... check this URL. It explains how, why, and how to fix the problem - and still stay with AOL if you want to

I suggest Ulead Gif Animator, that is if you are not already using it.
It automatically transformed all images into .gif format when you save your animation.

Clear your temporary internet files, then you will be able to save as other formats than untitled.bmp
Happens to me from time to time.
