advice on layout/graphic
Hi all
I'm not really after a critique here, well, maybe I am, but it's only one page at the minute.

What I want advice on is where to put links on the above page? I'll need room for about 5 links but can't decide where to put them. Sall I put them in the grey bar?
Thanks for your advice!

I'd put them in the top gray bar or maybe in the white just above the bottom gray bar.
Nice quote btw

I agree, put them in the top grey box in white with maybe a colour as hover/rollover.

I would disagree about that - I think that putting links in those top and bottom bars would ruin the effect. Well, maybe the bottom one would be okay but definitely not the top one. Those really serve to frame in the design and I think that putting links in there would lessen their impact.
How long is the link text? Short words or longer? They would look okay in white on the botom darker grey bar. You also might be able to fit them in under that row of colour photos (if they're short enough). It might look neat if you could match the length of the row of links to the length of the row of photos. Or, make those photos a little higher and put the links right-aligned in the corner to the left of the photos... might not be enough room for that.
Or, if you want them to be less noticable, put them in a vertical row over in the white space below the harp picture. Right aligned so the right margin lines up with the right side of the lighter grey box within the darker grey bar. Try putting some little square grey bullets with those. Or maybe that wouldn't work too well.

In a circle around the harp? What do you mean?
Thanks for all your advice everyone!
Here's what I've come up with for the time being - highly unoriginal I know - http://clients.fbagroup.co.uk/rhodridavies/

Nevermind on that. Links too long.
What I meant was, arrage the links in a cirle (or eclipse) around the harp. Kinda like planets orbiting around the sun.
