I got a client who emailed me his logo is in an adobe illustrator format (.ai), I never used adobe illustrator and I'm having a hard time getting the logo and modifying the color, is there a way I can grab the logo out and move it over to photoshop in a .psd format so i can modify the logo there?

Also, there are 3 different types of logos on that one page when I open it up in adobe illustrator, any advise would be appreciated, I hope I'm making some sense here?

You should be able to import the AI file right into a Photoshop document. Just make a new photoshop document and go file > place. Then select your AI file and resize it to what you want. In the long run it will probably be best to learn illustrator a little better so you can work with it, but as a short term solution this should be fine.

As for the second part of your question, I'm not quite sure what you mean. You see three separate drawings in the Illustrator document? You should be able to drag and select the ones you don't want and delete them.

If you HAVE Adobe Illustrator, then you can select the logo that you want to use and move it to its own document, then save that in whatever format you prefer, including .psd.
