Hi everyone,

Was just wondering if anyone has had a change to work with Adobe GoLive 4 yet?

They have not yet made the trial version available you so I am not will to go out and buy it till I have tried it. Although my experiences with Adobe products in general has been good I still like to try out applications before I buy them.

I use Adobe ImageStyler, Photoshop, Pagemaker and Pagemill but have not heard any reviews on GoLive yet. It is supposed to be a all around graphics and web page designer with a lot of options. As I said, just want to here how people like it before I am willing to spend $300 dollars to test it myself.

Thanks a lot for your help

Thanks JP,

Considering the review you posted a link to, it sure sounds worth checking out.

I dropped back by Adobe and as of yet the free trial is not available. All they say is "coming this spring". As soon as the trial does become available you can be sure I will check it out.

As I said, I use serveral of their products and have been able to make some nice web pages using them. I can't say enough about ImageStyler as a web graphics designer. I personally have never seen another web graphics application that comes close to it.

When you say you like macromedia, I assume you are talking about Fireworks? I have Fireworks 4, but just never spent much time working with it.

I am fortunate in my employment as I am a computer repair technician for a local Kansas City company. The company I work for is a freight recovery and reseller corporation. I see TONS of software come through there and I am usually able to buy it for pennies on the dollar. Plus the fact I get my computer part for next to nothing. It allows me to constantly build new and faster machines for home and business use.
Just put together my latest "demon" Duel Pent II 400's, onboard Adaptec SCSI, full gig of SDRAM memory. 16 meg Matrox Mil video, with Rainbow Runner Video Capture.

Sorry, got side tracked (like to talk shop). I hope the Adobe GoLive 4 come through at work soon but still haven't seen it.
Let you know what I think of it once I do get a chance to try it out.

Later,
Doug

Hi Doug!

Can you get me a copy of Macromedia Fireworks? How much? I have used that tool and I've always wanted it!

Thanks

Ok JP,

If you will let me know of something you are interested in I will keep and eye out for it. Mabie we could work out a trade of some sort in return for software or hardware, even complete computers. We are selling Pentium II 300's with all the accessories and monitors for I think 600.00 at this time. The machines I build that are just Pentium 233's are selling for around 300.00 complete.

Keep in mind the computers I build are mostly made from parts of salvaged computers and lost freight. There is basicly no warranty but we test them very well and run them on burn in.

Just email me your shopping list.

Doug

Cheers Doug,
The direction this thread is heading means I will set up that Barter forum today.
I am in the UK, so there might be a problem with shipping?
Anyway I am after a laptop, fairly top of the range, and have been looking at about $1100-1400 US but that is really a bit much for me. Do you put together laptops?

JP,

Sorry, I never intended to start anything like that. I guess it is easy for conversations to take several directions if you are not careful.

Yes we do get lots of laptops in. Please feel free to continue this conversation by personal email if you would like to. I don't want your message area to turn into a store front.

BTW, that was one of the plans for Technel Services all along. Once I make enough money consistantly on the internet I will be leaving the company I work for. I know several techs who have left the company and became buyers. I will at some point be buying from the company and selling on Technel Services. I will need to get credit card clearing setup then but there is plenty of time to go in that direction.

Send me a quick email, and I will shoot you some laptop prices. Please let me know what CPU and mabie brand you are looking for.

Note: Anyone else that it may concern. Please do not make requests on the message board, but email me if you wish. If a barter section is setup I suppose we could carry on there.

All the best,
Doug

Doug is right, no more requests here.
Can we carry on in the barter forums where I will start a thread for that laptop.
Cheers,
JP
