hey i had a guy send me the sql logon info for my sql server. could someone tell me how i can logon. when i put the ip in the ie address bar it says page cannot be found!

well being a sql server it probably won't have a website running on it.
SQL doesn't work like that and how you logon will depend on;
which server it is (MS, MySQL, Oracle etc)
what tools you have to logon with.

probably My SQL and Oracle both database language is preferred used for creating relational database.

my website has a mysql database all i want to do is know how to logon! i cannot do it through IE. when i enter the ip in ie i get page cannot be found!

You need some kind of admin interface, check with your host to see if they provide phpAdmin or similar.
There are some links to some GUI tools on the MySQL website as well.

PHPMYADMIN is a very famous GUI tool that helps manage your mysql database on the web. It ships with cpanel/whm. Most hosting company (either on windows or linux) offer this tool to manage your mysql database.
Please contact your host or webmaster to provide login information of your mysql database and URL of phpmyadmin to manage your mysql database.

first tell me the exact what you are trying to do. you are unable to access database through your website or you are trying to acess it directly.

If its mysql and you have c-panel. Then it can be accessed through c-panel.
As far as i know, only phpmyadmin can be accessed through a url.
