FrontPage database import
Need help trying to take data from a MS Works data base that I have a list of my customers, and placing it on a page in Front Page for my web site. Doesn't have to be automatic (I only make new entries a couple of times a month). Have tried coping and pasting into a table on Front page, but numerious problems that way. Can I set up the import feature in FP to retrieve data from a MS Works database? Does anybody know of problems with Front Page 2000 that Microsoft doesn't tell us? Been through the mill with them on this and they say it's not a problen with their program and brushed me off. Any tip's on other ways to do this would be appreciated. Note: I do not have MS Access

Bozo, welcome to Webmaster-Forums. I am not a Frontpage expert. Just a couple of ideas though. One MS only sells Works as a counterfeit to it's other more robust programs like access and excel. I searched some on the web and I couldn't come up with an answer that was even close. With that in mind I think that maybe you have two options:
(1.) Try to save or export the Works file as either a .mdb(access) or .xls (excel) file. You would have no problems at all importing this file into Frontpage. The last time I used Works was a few years back. It seems like the database wasn't compatible with much anything.
(2.) Buy/Beg/Borrow a copy of MS Office. You can probably get a copy of Office 97 pretty cheap about now with XP coming out.
Other than those thoughts, I have none other. Anyone else?

I have no experience with Works, so I'm not sure what to recommend. Mairving suggestions seem like your best shot.
1) I would try what Mairving said in suggestion (1.)
2) Does Works let you export or save as a text file?
3) Maybe you can setup a macro to create a text file?
4) What extension is your works database? Try opening it with notepad, maybe it's text based (doubt it)
Sorry I can't help more
