Berkely Database Trouble

Hi,

I have an old version of wwwthreads (2.8 I think) that uses the berkely database format. ( I assume it does because it uses dbmopen perl command to access the database. )

I have run into a problem whereby I cannot access this database anymore. I can't open it with the script.

Is there any application that can open this database format for reading or repairing? Is there any way to recover data here? Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS I have no idea of what version the database is, or how it is structured...**groan**
