ADO version on iis4 and 5?
HI there
Does anyone know the version of ADO installed by default on NT4 with IIS4, and whether the service packs install a newer version and what those versions are?
cheers

Sorry, I don't know this information off hand. Service packs will attempt to update mdac if it needs to. To see what version you are currently running check out the properties/version of msdadc.dll.
A lot of different programs can update the mdac (IE, Office, Service packs) so it's hard to keep track.

Thanks for that - I discovered on the NT 4 server that the ADO version is 2.1 and with win2k it's 2.5, apparently there's a huge difference in these 2 versions.

Funny thing, I just upgraded our Intranet server here to ADO 2.6 (from 2.5) today and the Intranet crapped out! Man, was my face red!
If you reference the ADO Type library in your global.asa file you have to be careful when you upgrade ADO, as the filenames can change. I guess I had to learn the hard way.
