Where did the lights go? - Light Bulbs?
Hi JP!
Can you please bring back the light bulbs? It is a real pain to look at the dates and try to figure out where the new posts are.
Also can you put lights under each category where all the posts are or make the new ones up at the top hightlighted or something that will replace what the old one had (red folder)?
This would help and make this forum better.

I agree... I hate looking at the dates to see what posts may or may not be new... You need to add something like the lightbulbs.

You should have stayed with the UBB, it's the best available. (Sure do miss the light bulbs...)

OK,
I new there would be problems moving over but the lights have been replaced with a similar system.
When you log out go to the front page and 'reset all posts'. This will set you up for your next visit when all ew posts will be highlited and you will not need to look at the date.

JP,
The link that says home at the top is linked to your site and not the main webmasters forum.

I still hate BT!
The layout is so boring with no colors ...
And is much harder to know when there are new posts...
Joseph: No offense ... but I think UBB is 100 times better than BT

No offense taken :P~
The layout/design for BT 3.3 will be better. Just wait till it comes out and tell me what you think. Also, if people really want the bulbs, I can add those too. BT is so much easier to customize than the UBB, you'd be surprised what we can add.

I think it will just take a little getting use to. I do think it would be nice to see all of the categories listed on the main page, could save a click as well

Hi Carolyn!
I was just wondering, why don't you have a web site?
Now is the time, and get your feet wet before millions of new people come online. One day, 80% of the worlds population will be online, I think.

Hey JP,
In regard to:
<I do think it would be nice to see all of the categories listed on the main page>
I thought about this but, due to the fact that several forums will be added shortly the list on that one page would be far to long (20+)
I was thinking more in the lines of small print subcategories
next to the categories, no extra room needed but more options visable from the front page. Hope that made sence .
I think it's Great to have the Joseph available and so willing to help, can we invite the netscape and IE developers to help with all of those cross browser compatability issues ????
take care,

Carolyn,
I see what you mean now. We will see what to do when all the forums are set up.

Hi Curtis,
I'm glad you asked that, if for no better reason then to light a fire under me so I will finish my project !!! I do have a plan, I'm hung up on a couple of ideas, most recently, what to call the site/business. Secondly how far should I go (time commitments) since I think (fingers crossed here) that I may have a new exciting full-time day job here quite soon. I may move this discussion to another post since I don't want to get too far off the topic here
take care,

Dear all,
Sadly there is no way that I could satisfy everybody by changing forums.
The move was completed with a view to the future of these boards, the bigger UBB's I frequent are getting extremely slow and the new UBB releases themseleves are getting bogged down with new, pointless features.
True this forum has several features lacking, among them;
- a system similar to the lightbulbs which does not involve resetting posts after each visit.
- an improvement in the slightly dull appearance (though I will change this very soon).
All these features, and many more can (and will) be added while keeping the faster feel this forum has versus the UBB. The UBB will just get slower as features are added.
We have the added bonus of having the programmer working with us here, and happy to respond to any querries/needed upgrades!
Let's all carry on working together to make these forums, the friendlest and most informative forums on the net.
PS:

I would just like to say that I do appreciate the democratic way this discussion is being restricted to (ie no flamming!).
Joseph and myself have worked very hard to convert these forums to benefit the whole ccommunity and still want to hear any comments on these forums you may have.
Thanks,
JP
