Whats wrong with TWF
has TWF really slowed down lately or is it just me ?
theres hardly ever any posts when I check now.
Maybe it was the switch to vBulletin ?
dunno, hope it improves soon though.

You really should spend some time to get redirects in place that acctually work correctly. When I go to the old bookmark I still get a forbidden error, and I am sure lots of people still do as well, not to mention all the links to the old forum around the internet that now go no where.
It would be more than worth the time spent doing it.

I haven't read the forums for about 2-3 days now, and logging onto the internet, I expected to see quite a few posts for reading, but the regular forum sections I go into hardely had any.

Yeah, I've noticed that the amount of new threads has slowed down A LOT. I don't think it's because most users are used to UBB, because vBulletin is pretty similar. Please JP, share your ideas

Put an invitation on the signup confirmation page for people to go ahead and create a post so people get the feel for posting.. hehe.. Maybe?

Yea, I haven't been coming back as much as I used too. Guess because of the now new topics.

Also I guess the new design could also be causing me not to come back, seems too bunched up and I don't like looking at it.

thats what I was saying, I havent seen a dramatic increase in speed (if any at all..) and I just think the vBulletin is way to cluttered with "stuff"...hmm.

It looks crowded with the table widths at 100%. I took mine down to 90% and that helped. When Matt gets the new design up it probably won't seem as crowded though.

Well I don't know if there is a re-direct there now or not, but when the switch to vBulletin was made my bookmark (which was to something like: webmaster-forums.com/cgi-bin/blahblah) gave me an error for days. I was just about to delete the bookmark thinking the site had gone bye bye when I decided to type in the domain address (of the main page) when I learned that the switch had been made. Yes, I know I should have though about doing that sooner... but I didn;t. IMHO, it is (or WAS if it is corrected now) a BIG mistake to not have any redirect at the old address of the forum. I think that has to be at least partially responsible for the delcine in usage.

I think you're right Ted. The redirect problem has been talked about for a while, and I'm amazed it hasn't been fixed. I think everyone has probebly deleted the site from their bookmarks 'cause they think it went "bye bye." The only way to get them back is to a) update the redirect script, and b) email them telling them to come back...

All you need for the redirect is a simple addition to the .htaccess file in the main public_html dir similar to:
RedirectPermanent /cgi-bin/ubb/Ultimate.cgi http://216.10.4.112/forums/index.php
(I believe this is it.. correct me if I'm wrong.. especially since it's kinda late )

I come and reaaaad so of the things. I haven't had the time lately to post much. Hopefully that will change. My friend was killed last Saturday in a helicoptor crash.

...You know, I am beginning to think that 2000 really is the year of the apocalypse.
Alright, I got hit by a car, my friend's MOM, SISTER, AND DAD were all hospitalized with serious conditions within a week's time. The same friend's dad's best friend [who was an awesome guy] died also. My other friend's little brother was in a car accident. Another friend of mine [who was another great guy] was killed in a car accident. Somebody else I knew died from O.D.'ing on drugs, Parker's Friend got killed in a helicopter accident, Frank Sinatra Died, Al Gore ran for president.
...and my Y key doesn't work.
Hmm... yes. The apocalypse is upon us, we just don't realise it.

Jeez Mike.
And I am sitting here mad and quite ticked off about how I didn't record NSync on the Today Show Friday. Watched it but would have loved to have the audio and or video for my website.
