vBulletin ripoff of UBB?
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the striking similarity of vBulletin a copyright or patent(if Infopop has one) conflict with UBB?

There are several differences...
No company copied the other. If this were true, then it would be a problem. There are a few similarities, but not too many.
I like vBulletin a lot more.

No, actually I think the backend of the script is VERY different. vBulletin uses PHP and mySQL, and UBB uses Perl and just regular flat-file databases. It's much different in that sense. The frontend, which is the layout and what you're looking at, may be similar, but then again some designs are the same.

You can change the look of vBulletin easily with the use of templates..

There are really only 2 ways to set up a board. Either threaded or linear. Almost all threaded boards look alike to some degree and all linear boards look alike. UBB certainly was far from the first linear board, so if this basic layout and design belong to any one person, rest assured that UBB ripped it off just as much as vBulletin did.
BTW:
UBB = Perl and flat file storage
Vbulletin = PHP and MySQL.
So they don't share a single line of code.

I like how the front-end looks a lot alike. It makes it easier when you go to different boards running different BB's. Just my thoughts.
