Updates!
Wow, it's been a big week for TWF!
The server has been upgraded to all new hardware with increased CPU speed and RAM. As many of you have probably noticed, the speed of the forums has increased a bit.
And as you can see, the forum software has now been updated to the latest vBulletin version.
Because vb2 doesn't use the old templates (not very compatible), I have to go through and update all the templates so it'll be a day or two before everything is looking just right again.
I apologize for the prolonged downtime... The upgrades have been slow and they have caused a couple of days of downtime for the forums, but I believe they will be well worth it in the long run!
Post your comments here about any of the upgrades, but keep in mind that I am not yet done with the style of the forum.

you must be editing vBulleting right now..so far so good. Looks good, I just installed vB 2.0 myself and it was quite a pain to have to go through the templates and alter sizes and stuff..but it was well worth it. So far so good, keep it up

I keep finding more and more things I like about vB2... and I've been visiting the one at vBulletin.com for a while.
Ravi- You seeing colors changing?

looking good Chad!
Is it easier to modify templates with this version?

I spent like two hours trying to figure out how in the hell the templates even worked in this version... now that I know what is going on, I just have to get them all updated. It feels good to start with a clean set of templates though!

Ya, I'll bet.
Have you been able to copy&paste from the old templates or are you doing it all from scratch?

A lot of copy and paste... the problem is that vb2 has different codes than vb1 so it's difficult to just copy and paste... I have to go through and edit all the little codes.

ahhh...
Sounds like someone didn't do much planning to ease the installation.

Hehe, it's sure nice to be back home at TWF, during the down time which lasted a few days, well I was roaming the other forums and feeling like an outcast and always wishing that TWF isn't totally destroyed by that DEMON vbulletin.
Wow! Chad has certainly mastered and control that DEMON and lets keep our fingers crossed that it will be a smooth ride after this and better thing to come for TWF and the community.
:)
Regards,
NSS

yeah, I dont understand that...it seems as though they renamed a couple of the templates so when you try and get the old ones to work they don't. Kinda sucks, the worst part was trying to find out which table to edit as we wanted to make the forums fit within the design of the site. Other then that, I really like some of the new options (revert back to original template), the administrator seems to have alot more control.
Mark I wasn't on for long last night but yes, it was a very interesting color scheme when I was here (there was that purplish color in the table)..it's not anymore thankfully .Glad to see everything working!

Looks good!
BTW, are the banner ads coming back?

Yes, they will be back in time. I have to get the forums back to the way they were and some additional rules will be placed on the banners.
More info will be posted when the banners are going to come back.

I now noticed that black border lines seperating rows and colums is quite irritating. If you change it back to white it will look more soothing to the eyes in my opinion.

Really? It doesn't seem to bother me.
And our bgcolor is white, so I'm not quite sure how that would look.

Well, having those Table cells in light grey and grey would look more matching

May I suggest,
Since your bgcolor is FFFFFF from experience Table cells with EEEEE0 and EEEEEE looks outstanding and matching color contrast

Looks alright, still some things I see could be tweaked. But, overall, glad we finally got the upgrade.
1. Might want to fix the post icons, they are totally mixed up and inconsistent. You have like three different kinds there.
2. As someone already pointed out, get rid of the black borders and make the border color white.
3. Don't forget about the TWF banner program.
I'll post more suggestions as I see the need for them.

I agree about changing the borders to white. It is distracting.

Chad,
Don't forget to email all the forums users telling them about the new TWF, as well as info about cancelling their account. That'll weed out a majority of "dead users."

Yeah, now with the white border line it's easy to look at the text without any distraction.

The buttons are more uniform now and it looks great instead of different colors and very confusing. So with the banner later on, it will help brighten up the page layout and everything will look almost perfect.

Two more things I noticed that need to be fixed are:
The http://www.webmaster-forums.com/images/down.gif image is still on the old default color scheme and needs to be changed.
The submit buttons on the newreply.php template need to be centered like they are on other templates.
Incredible job!
