Ultsearchsucks.com
Ultsearchsucks.com is now registered to me.
Gosh can some of you help me out with this site. My goal is to get it listed in the search engines before ultsearch.com. Who knows maybe then they will want to trade this domain for webmaster-forums.com .

Just think about what we want to do with the site.
I am thinking that maybe we could have some testimonials of people who have lost their site to ultsearch.com, etc.

lol ... I agree to that idea ... we should spread the words out. Other websites can fall victim to this guy./

Get something up quickly as google is crawling at the moment and we can all link to it from our own sites and get a good start with it there. Then we can build up a site of testimonials or whatever against these people and hopefully shame them into stopping!

Again, I would encourage everyone to concentrate on spreading the new url. When Chad has the information he needs to procede with the .com address, he will let us know.
By all means, however, feel free to compile information about any company you perceive as doing you wrong.

This is a great idea! I love the idea of testimonials of people who had this happen to them. It's kind of like those sites warning about scumware/spyware, it could really spread the word.

Sorry I was out most of yesterday. My thoughts originally were to make others aware of the practices of a company like ultsearch.com by including info documenting the companies practices. Eventually the main goal is to stop this kind of thing from happening. I would really like for this to be a community project. So if anyone would like to think about doing the design for the site or submit ideas. I have set the site up with 75MB of space and a MySQL database.
Okay, the site is resolving.
Ideas?

At least the site must contain a list of other victims I think

I agree. I was thinking about contacting some of the victims and sharing their story.

Maybe you can partner up with Verisign Sucks. Ours was apparently not a problem with Verisign, but I'm sure many of the others were.
While I'm at it, you might want to read This Page. Nothing about Ultimate Search in particular, but there are some interesting notes on the theft of Hoopola.com and Net. Sol's practices. Apparently they have a paid service for people who want to jump on domains as soon as they expire (and I would imagine that Ultimate Search is using something like this).
P.S. Google search for "VeriSign Sucks" Google Bombing for a good cause?

I noticed that Dotster also has a paid service where you can bid on the domain names before they expire in $25 increments. Hmmm, it seems like they would make more money this way than by someone renewing their site. Based on that wouldn't it be more profitable to them if they forgot to send out expiration notices. Hmmm2, wasn't WMF.com registered through Dotster.

Talk about a conflict of interest! It seems that finding an honest, competent registrar is a hard thing these days.

... then do it yourself! it's very easy. you jsut need to fill in a few forms, but a lot of sites trick you into thinking it's complcated as they want to keep their dollars to themselves.
