Yes, UBB is a bit slower than BT, but UBB saves a lot of CPU by storing threads on html files instead of displaying them through cgi files like BT does.
JP,
That could be a problem for you, as Communitech may complain about CPU usage and overcharge/kick you.

Uh, no it doesn't. It takes more CPU resources to create a file than it does to read one. Not to mention the only thing that is an html file with the UBB is the discussion thread, all the rest is done with the script. And lets not forget, with each UBB discussion you need the text files that store all the posts and the html page itself taking up at minimum more than five times what BT would, in some cases over 50 times more.
Not to mention JP has already been offered free space on my dedicated server if he needs it. We closed down our webmaster forums and pointing our users here, so it's worth the trade if he takes it, to both him and us.
You only have to translate the parts that are outputed to the browser, which there really isn't much. Most of the program is based on what the users type. Actually, if you translate parts of the program, I'll add them in for you.
Haha, Joseph Bannon is a trip. I love it man, you're the ultimate. First, you're the only poster I've seen on this board that's honest when it comes to self promoting. Second, you're a presistent sales person, evident from this string of post. Lastly, I'd just like to thank you for your honesty and integrity by disclosing on your very first post in this string that you were self promoting. O'yeah, I like UBB better though.

I can tell you one thing, you'll get a "BT" if you ask me, but that's only because I wrote it.

Go for UBB. It is the best available.
(Although, customizing it can be rather difficult.)

If it's the best, then why is it slower?

Well, though I like the UBB a lot I think it is going downhill, while the BT is going to improve.
See my posts in this forum/...light bulbs.

I had dcforum97 awhile back, then moved to the UBB, and then created BigTalker. I say, if you can't find what you want, make it .
