I think it was a nice welcome to the site.

Personally, a welcome email is a good 'prompter' for those that register, go on to do other things then forget to return?
The email itself was fine, because you're such a friendly lot in here, I would have had a "Introduce Yourself" link or the like near the top of the email - again, this would have got the ball rolling.

what a nice idea, make a site where people can post their e-mail ads to get spam... display them, and make them known... heh!

Didn't bother me...
...though a link to a site about "
cows stopping to eat the roses" would have been nice!In fact... i rather like spam. I have been thinking of starting a site that is just my email over and over and over... but then that would be spam. What a predicament.

It's not unsolicited. They did register on our forum and did check the box that asks if they want to recieve admin emails. So it's not spam in that respect. It does get a little annoying though when you get emails from sites like this that don't really say anything particularly relevant.

yup... giving them unsolicted e-mail makes it the definition "spam"...

See, now we've got a welcome PM as well, and all customized welcome messages on the site, so I'm not sure the welcome email is necessary anymore.
I also think that welcome type emails are usually lame, so no need to annoy new members with another one.

I voted that I think it was lame, but I think most welcome type-emails are pretty lame. I say the shorter the better.

I would have chosen an option like, ive recieved it, read it, and it did not bother me at all... I even saved it...
