Howdy,

Why was my thread about advertising on this forum deleted? I requested pricing information, and instead got the post deleted?

Chad having a blast with deleting other competitor's posts again? Gee Chad, whatever happened to being completely unbiased here? Granted you might be getting a ton of free advertising out of this site because you're hosting it, but I am sure JP wouldn't mind making a bit of cash from all his hard work!

I want to pay to advertise on this site Smiling We are getting the cash to do it, and since this is such a friendly forum, I'd love to do it!

JP, could you get me information about:

One month sponsorship -- banner ad + text link
CPM Advertising and CPC, if available.

Also, traffic stats would be nice.

Sincerely,

Ravi,

My post was unfairly deleted for no apparent reason -- I requested advertising information, and instead got the post deleted only because I am a competitor? How do you want me to react to that? Smiling

I am interested in *paying* to advertise on this forum, and we clearly are getting the money necessary for such advertising, so why not?

Of course the users that we host that found this forum so far seem to be raving right and left about us, but I'd feel much more comfortable knowing that every user that comes to this forum seeking web hosting sees our link/banner -- we'll be unleashing a very massive advertising campaign shortly, as more monetary funding becomes available.

Obviously word-of-mouth advertising is one of the most inexpensive and effective advertising available, but its not exactly something we have any control over, so I would feel much more comfortable knowing that our advertising is there indeed.

see the "Contact Us" link below, it'd probably be best if you contact JP through there. I suggest using that if you think Chad will delete your messages..

I am pretty sure JP doesn't want any advertising on this site but I guess you can give it a try anyway. Didn't we used to have advertising? I haven't been here the longest but I think I heard someone say that there used to be some...

Your post was deleted because advertising information should be directed to JP via e-mail. As you can see, advertising is not currently a part of TWF and by doing a search, you would have found another thread about it (stating that JP wanted to keep TWF ad free for quite some time - that may have changed but that is for you two to discuss via e-mail please).

Where was this thread posted?
It should not have been deleted that is a bit harsh.

I would say contact me in a month about advertising as I might be considering discreet sponsorship of certain forums in the future. Depending on what TWF thinks of this idea.

Also, pls can we stop this bickering!

Yeh, JP, I agree. I also agree that, without knowing personally, or having talked to either side, that Chad should have absolutely no influence whatsoever on thinkhosts posts. Completely unbiased, just, wherever that thinkhost posts, chad shouldn't touch it, no matter what and leave it to someone else. It creates too much bickering:) what we need in this world is peace...

Word spreads like wildfire, don't ya think?

I sure as heck didn't ask anyone but one close friend (who was invited just to see one of your posts) to come here. Like I said, a lot of our members know each other directly so word spreads FAAAAAST!

Aren't you glad to see your forum grow so nicely? Smiling

Chad, i am not hosted by thinkhost and have only spoken to him once through icq. There has been almost no contact between me and thinkhost, yet you cease to realize that you are/were whatever in the wrong

Hey adaml,

Now you are suggesting to JP that Thinkhost be given special treatment(VIP) you must be crazy.

Any reason why he should be treated special?

DoubleOK,

I was not referring to you. Thanks though for your input.

First off, I think that that ThinkHosting should have contacted JP directly through e-mail, and shouldn't have posted it in this forum. God gave you a brain to think. Why not use it?

Second, I can see why Chad deleted the thread. ThinkHosting has been causing a lot of trouble (not just him though), and I'm sure Chad didn't want to see yet another thread about crap and stuff.

Third, I agree. It seems like TWF is inheriting all of ThinkHostings clients. I remember him saying once that he was tempted to e-mail all of his clients to tell them to back him up. Looks like he did Smiling

That's all from me...

Justin,

As much as I am tempted to bring my entire user base here, and as much as they can all benefit from the information within these forums, doing so would mean having to send e-mails to our users -- we have a strict privacy policy that we adhere to, and it is a policy that we follow to the last word, and really go above and beyond in not even e-mailing our users at all unless in an emergency.

Obviously asking our users to post in our defense would tilt the balance in any arguments quite a bit, but thats
not what I am about -- we compete fair and square and asking users to post for us would clearly be an unfair business tactic, at least in my point of view. As our user base continues to expand, more and more users are obviously going to be spreading the word about us, and you obviously will be seeing more posts here on this forum about us -- thats a given for any good web host!

Let me end this once and for all -- at no point in time did I, or any member of my staff, ask our user base to post on this or any other forum -- I have pointed a friend of mine here in the past to one of the posts just for him to tell me his view on things, but thats it. If someone asks about good forums, I tell them, but thats it!

Back off with the accusations -- the only thing you're doing is tearing this forum apart, and its not helping anyone.

Can we move on? I think Chad and I settled our differences last night via ICQ, so lets move on folks, this is IN THE PAST!

Accusations? Do anyone of you see anywhere in this thread that I've accused ThinkHosting of doing something? I just thought that it would have been better for him to have e-mailed JP, instead of posting here. That's all...

Justin,

Can't you please just stay away from flaming my company for no aparent reason?

Can an administrator please lock this thread? This is getting annoying Plain

I am locking this thread with the assumption that both parties (JP and thinkhost) got the necessary information from it. I am sure JP will reopen it if he feels necessary.

I apologize to all TWF users for all of the recent uproars at TWF. It certainly is not my intent to cause problems with anyone (including fair competitors) on purpose, nor is it my hope that there will be problems between other TWF members.

I just feel like saying "Can't we all get along?" Smiling

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July (those that celebrate it)!

P-L-E-A-S-E can we stop flaming each other. We may disagree but if that is the case, why not settle the issiu privacy rather than dragging it out over stupidly long periods in public and creating an unfriendly.

The Chad/Thinkhost dispute has been resolved. There is no use for others to try and keep it going. It's over, let's move on.

Thread Re-Closed.
cheers
