Permission Problems with TWF - There are some problems preventing you from posting
Everything was working fine when I went to bed last night but for whatever reason, the permissions have been changed on some files that shouldn't have had permissions changed.
They are being changed back now.

Thanks Chad, for a second I thought I was losing it... lol
(I posted a response, then hit go back to discussion automatically... and didn't see my post... So I tried it again...)

An update to the above post. The problem is that when moving all the forums and members to our servers, we couldn't retain the permissions of each individual file or directory. So... We have about 1500 individual files to chmod but we will get things working today.
Sorry for the problems... Moving servers is never easy, especially with a site like this.

One more update... Posting should now work fine. You may not be able to edit posts but you should be able to post them... All new posts will be chmoded correctly for our servers but old ones will have to be set. You will not be able to edit your profile until we get to the members.

Sorry Chad, not yet...
I just went to repost my response in the General Website Promotion board... the counter and date updated and I got the message that the board was updated... but the post is not showing:

(I responded to Jaiem as to what HappyPuppy is).
Matt
PS. Please do not take this as a complaint - I KNOW how hard it is to move a large website... I am just trying to help.

Matt,
No, no, I just realized this myself!
You will not be able to reply to any old discussions (those that were not created on our servers) until the permissions are changed.
JP is not online and I can't reach him but I am making the decision to take TWF offline until we get things working correctly. We had hoped that the move was smoother than this but it wasn't.

Well, on the bright side sendmail is working. Only trouble is, I got post notifications, but when I looked there were no new posts.
It looks like quite a task you have there, to CHMOD 1500 files, ouch!

John,
It really went quicker than I expected... I just opened WS_FTP and selected to CHMOD one file to 777 and it CHMODED every file to 777 than I went in and changed the ones that should not be 777 to 755. All should be working well. Before this happened, if a post was made, you was sent a notification but the post wasn't saved because the directory/file couldn't be written to yet.
Everything should be up to normal now though.

Sorry Chad,
Still not there... I just attempted to repost the message I mentioned above... Everything appears to work correctly, the forum update date (and message count) is updated, and I receive the e-mail notification, but it still didn't appear.

I am not even sure as to how you are getting to that link, but it isn't one of the forums.

I expect it is a link to the now relocated Marketing Forum. The forum was merged with the General Promotion forum.
Thanks.
