New Template
Hi Admins.
The new template looks pretty good, but for some reason, i miss the old style. it felt more comfortable. The design was warm and easy to use. This however is cold, and empty.
I know that it will of course grow, but if you want my feedback, I prefered the old style.
Keep it up though, it lets us know that the staff are keeping up, and doing their best to maintain the website. Please dont take the feedback the wrong way, I only mean that it seems there is a lot missing.
I think it suited aPaddedCell better than TWF.
Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear, but it is my honest truth. I could tell you I love it, but what good would that do anyone?
The support and education still remains outstanding, and with all due respect, it is this that we return for, so who am I to complain about the graphics.
Right, thanks for reading my ramblings, and thanks for your excellent support.

Thanks for the feedback, honestly it's better to hear that people don't like something than to not hear anything at all.
Fair enough, the old one was grey and red which is warm. Whereas this is blue, green and purple, which is cold. We should take that into consideration, there's lots of work to do on the design.
It's a big shock for everyone. I still get surprised when loading webmaster-forums.net and Drupal appears, it's a huge change!
Well thanks for that! One of the reasons we're switching to this platform is its search engine friendliness, so more people will find that education you mentioned.

The color scheme doesn't bother me so much, but a suggestions for down the road is on the "recent posts", can you add in what area they are in? This is my preferred entry page to the site. As with many forums, not everyone uses complete meaningful subjects, so sometimes knowing what section it was posted in helps me decide if I want to read it. (ie. i generally ignore all critique posts).

The 'Recent posts' page has been overhauled, is it better now?

Gosh what happened here!? Every page is full of mysql errors. Can you fix those?

Our backup script keeps locking the server up hard. I keep having to get the hosts to reset it, this corrupts MySQL tables. They should be fixed now.
This is why we moved when the forums are quiet, just knew something unforeseen and random would start going wrong. The scripts are disabled for now, but that's not ideal. Will be doing some testing to see if we can at least backup without crashing the bloomin' server.

Ah! Now it's much better.
Congratulations on this board, it is looking good. I see you guys turned more beginner friendly, that is a great move.
Just hope this drastic change doesn't kill your google positions, I'm sure you've got it figured out but it's never predictable!
Love the clean look.

Glad you like it!
It probably will kill our Google position for a few months, but for long-tail searches things couldn't get much worse. It'll be a rough ride for a few months, but that's utterly worth it for getting a better position in the medium-term.

Well, not sure if it is looking this way because of the error, or you are attempting to make it look that way and that caused the error, but for the main page listing all the areas, I like it now (minus all the warning and such all over the top).
3 times last night it would not let me post anything, when i tried, just came up with blank page. So we'll se if this posts Gotta love growing pains huh.

I haven't been around for quite a while and am an infrequent visitor when I am around. The new look is interesting, not at all like the typical forum. The jury's still out whether or not that's a good thing. It will take some getting used to.
One thing I don't like is the date method. 1 year, 43 weeks and 2 days ago? Who can figure that out? I even have trouble with three weeks and 19 hours ago. Bring back the dates, please.

Changed it, how does that look? If a few people prefer the 'time ago' format I'll change it back.

Can you put it in two column form instead of alternately, I feel dizzy... But Kudos on the new Look, I'll grow into it... Oh and one more thing on the reply box, can you move the preview comment and post comment nearer to the text box.
I hope everyone agrees on these minor adjustment... Good Job Liam!

You mean the date in one column and the time in another? That could be a good idea: should be possible.
That's possible, just have to find the right/easiest way to do it. I'll put these on the to-do list, am a bit busy at the moment, but will get around to them shortly.
Thanks for the suggestions, nice one.

I have another suggestion how the thread should look to be more organized...
