Members only section
We had a thread here a while ago about how to hide your post from search engines. Maybe we should start a members only section? That way the bots won't get to see the post.

Hmm... Interesting. So what other sorts of things could go in there? I could see having a private critique area or even just making that area members only. Most of the time you wouldn't want anyone finding that through an SE anyway. At TAZ there is a whole section for premium members only, which is good because there are some things you don't want everyone to see (like your own members)!
Any other thoughts?
Megan

Well I'd like to see the rest of the content made easier for SE's to read, all this "showthread.php?t=1234" doesn't do anything for the Google bot.
So if we're going to hide some content, lets redress the balance by making the rest easier to read... Or are we really happy with the "Archive" area?

You can fix the ugly URLs with modrewrite in an .htaccess file quickly enough. (making the forums bot-friendly for any engine) But you'll have to go into the appropriate templates to change all the actual links.
