A little bit of news about upcoming changes
Alright, since Jeeves spilled the beans a little bit the other day I thought I'd go ahead and let you in on what's been happening behind the scenes. I can't tell you too much right now because nothing has been finalized but I will give you a few clues
The forums are in the process of being sold. The buyer is in our midst but I cannot say who it is. The new owner has given me full control to manage the forums as I see fit. So I will still be lead administrator and manager of TWF for the forseeable future.
We have a lot of changes in store for you over the coming months. As Jeeves mentioned we will be upgrading the forums and moving to a new server. I think it's quite obvious that a new design is in order as well.
That is all I am going to say about the upcoming changes - we will have more to tell you once the ownership is finalized. Please do not expect anything to happen right away. The ownership will not be finalized for a few weeks yet and it may take months to get the new design ready.
As always, thank you for your participation here. Without you this community would not be here.

I can't say what the sale price is. Who the owner is will be up to you to find out With a little sleuthing I'm sure it will be possible.

Just an amedum, since people seem to be a little confused: I don't own this place right now. Chad Simper is the current owner. He has been unable to devote time and energy to the forums for quite some time so once we are able to take over ownership we will be able to get going on some long-planned, and much needed improvements.

Thanks for the update Meagan! I don’t know how I missed this post two days ago but I found it now! I like the way things sounds so far! I will be behind you all the way . (Meagan, our fearless leader)
Just a few questions I am interested in....
Who is going to do the new design? Can we make it a community effort so we are all happy with it?
Are we going to switch forum software? We are professionals (most of us) we can write our on forum!
Is there going to more than just a forum? Are we going to become more of a community?

First question - I am hoping we can come up with something veryone is happy with. Moderators will have input on what we're doing. TOo much input is a problem though. When the current design was done we had interminable discussions about various mock-ups, nobody could decide on anything. It would have taken forever to get anything done so Chad asked me to do something up quickly and that was that. This design will be much more complex too.
Second question - The forum software will stay the same. No reason to change it. vBulletin is the most popular package in the business. No need to start from scratch if there's something "out of the box" that fulfills most of our needs. We will be writing some add ons and hacks hopefully.
Third quesiton - maybe... I'm not at liberty to say right now

Just a quick update - the ownership transaction is currently in progress. Once the domain transfer is complete we will have an official announcement for you. At that time I will be able to reveal a little more to you about what we actually have planned for the site. This will happen (hopefully) next week sometime.
