Linking & PR6
I've just noticed that the main domain PR has now gone up to a 6 on this last update with most inner pages now having a PR5!!! I know that we've had a few more people linking to us recently and a few others have finally changed over from our old domain to the .net which has helped.
Has everyone here got a link on their site??

I haven't got a site, but I link to here in signatures on other fora (about 3, I believe).

If you just go to the root domain ie. webmaster-forums.net that index page has a PR6
It looks like the .co.uk version is also registered to Dynamic Internet Solutions but why doesn't it forward on to the .net ???

We have a .co.uk? That's a bit of a misnomer, isn't it?

Still not following you. Go to that URL with my browser and I'll see PR 6 somewhere on the page? Or I'll see that in a browser extension, like Alexia or Google? PR stands for? I'm guessing it has something to do with popularity, or links.

I was always under the impression that "local" domains were generally used by local people/groups/businesses. If TWF were, for the most part, British, then I'd expect a .co.uk; or if it were mostly Australian, I'd expect a .com.au; and so on...

Obviously it was bought to stop anyone else buying it, which I expected, but thought it would have forwarded onto .net
pmj7 - have a look at the Search Engine Challenges forum and you'll learn all about PR & Google. The sites PR shows up on the Google Toolbar, which can be downloaded here

Ah, I thought as much. I stripped out the Google toolbar, useful as it was. I sometimes bring up a dozen or more webpages and for some reason it would take several seconds for each page to come up. Finally guessed that it must be the Google Toolbar taking resources, or something. Stripped it out and pages come up instantly.
I'll try installing it again sometime.

Learn something new every day! I had no idea this thing existed - thanks. So what's a decent rating? My site's pulling in 7/10.

So it seems! I've been surfing about with an eye on the PR numbers. I guess those site credit links pay off huh?
