how about an irc channel
What do you guys think about having a twf irc channel. I know sometimes i have seen someone online at the bottom and just wanted to say hey.
or those urgent problems could be fixed instantly instead of constantly checking the thread.
im not sure how exactly you would set it up maybe theres a vbullitin plugin.

We've talked about that actually. I even figured out what times would be good for official chats I was thinking of it more as a fun thing but urgent problems would be a good use for it too.
There are two options - setting up an IRC channel (not sure how to do that), or a vBulletin plugin (will have to wait until we get control of the server).

Question is where to host it. I ran one on the Irctoo network for a while as a proof-of-concept... there was some curiosity but nothing stuck. Imo, it would be better to have a channel on our own server and domain. So it depends what turns out with our hosting situation.

Well, I'm usually on IRC (other channels) and on the servers irc.freenode.net and irc.oftc.net so... what about we set up a temp channel on one of those servers and move over when we get our own irc server set up?

Freenode and OFTC exist to serve free/open-source projects and any communities associated with them. We aren't, at the core, one of those communities, so I don't think we ought to.
