You can change the avatar by going to: Control Panel at the top of the screen.
Choose Edit Options
Scroll down to the bottom where it says Change Avatar
Click on the button and specify the path to your avatar.
Here are the rules: You must have 25 posts before you can add an Avatar
Your avatar must be 50x50px or smaller
